Policing Policy

We are engaging with relevant stakeholders to establish appropriate policing and crime prevention policies.

Restore Public Confidence and Trust

Our policing policy objective is to restore public confidence and trust in the Queensland Police Service. We have a comprehensive plan to achieve this outcome. Police officers have special legislative powers. With those powers come responsibilities. We will enhance accountability and ensure compliance with those responsibilities.

Police Recruiting

A Democratic Party of Queensland government will make 18 the minimum age to apply to join the Queensland Police Service. The minimum training period will be 12 months, and the minimum age of 21 to enter the operational environment.
